General Questions/New to Joomla! 5.x • Change background colour of article.

Hi
I'm having trouble changing the background colour for my articles.
I got this off Google –

Open the article for editing with TinyMCE or another editor
Press Edit HTML Source
Enter the code <div style=background-color: #dddddd''> at the beginning of the article
Replace #dddddd with the color of your choice

But whenever I save the code the colour doesn't change and when go back to the source code, the extra code has gone.
Any help would be great thank you.
